Ascendant makes four executive appointments

Ascendant Group Ltd. yesterday announced several executive appointments, effective immediately, within its subsidiaries.

Andrew Parsons has been named president of Belco. Mr. Parsons joined the utility as senior accountant in 1990 and was made executive vice-president last year.

Meanwhile, Michael Daniel was appointed as senior vice-president of Belco’s Engineering and Environment Group. In his new role he will be responsible for the company’s energy planning for Bermuda, and ensuring Belco operates within environmental regulations. Mr. Daniel joined the company in 1989 as an apprentice.

Damon Wade is the new executive vice-president and general manager of Bermuda Gas. Mr. Wade joined the organisation as an engineer-in-training with Belco in 1989, before transferring to Bermuda Gas last year.


 

Jennifer Smatt Adkins was named executive vice-president of Sigma, Ascendant’s newest subsidiary, which provides corporate support services to the group’s other members. Mrs. Smatt Adkins was formerly Ascendant’s s senior vice-president for human resources. She joined the organisation in 2001 as Belco’s employee relations officer.

Ascendant president and chief executive Vince Inghamsaid: “We will be announcing further changes during the month of July, as we continue positioning the operating companies for progress in a marketplace that is defined by growing competition and developing regulation.”
