The new Bermuda Gas appliance showroom has opened its doors and is looking to interact with customers in their fully functional test kitchen.

The company moved out of their rented Church Street space in December and opened their doors on Serpentine Road in early January.

The new location boasts a 2,850-square-foot showroom featuring a gourmet test kitchen, a cooktop display station and a wine storage section.

The new showroom also carries close to 20 different brands of appliances, including refrigerators, washers and dryers. Bermuda Gas also sells gas fireplaces and space heaters.

The new building also includes a customer care centre, part and service department as well as a two-storey warehouse.

David DeSilva, sales manager of Bermuda Gas, says the new location is set up to showcase their products in various display installations.

“We laid out the space ourselves and customised it to the way we wanted it,” he said. “This way people can come in and look around and say, ‘that is what I want in my kitchen.’”

Their piece de resistance, so to speak, is their new fully operational test kitchen where they plan to hold cooking demonstrations and events as well as bake cookies for customers.

In the Spring, Mr DeSilva plans on holding outdoor cooking events on their new patio where test grills will be placed.

According to Mr DeSilva, the new location offers a variety of benefits to customers.

“We have great parking and our warehouse, parts, service and administrative offices are all in one spot it’s a one-stop shop,” he said.

“It’s a lighter, brighter space and so far we’ve had nothing but positive comments from people.”

Including Mr DeSilva, the store’s four sales consultants have close to 100 years of combined appliance sales experience, he says, and their service department has eight factory-trained technicians.

The showroom will also offer new extended hours on Saturdays opening at 9am until 5pm.

This Friday and Saturday, Bermuda Gas will be holding a warehouse sale where its older model and overstock appliances will be “priced to sell”.

“Most of brands we carry will be on sale and they will be at rock bottom prices,” said Mr DeSilva.

The new Bermuda Gas showroom is located on 25 Serpentine Road, Pembroke.

For their kitchen displays, Bermuda Gas tapped Kitchens by Charles to install the cabinetry and Kitchen Installations Limited for the countertops.
