KitchenAid — Showcased in Royal Gazette Feature

Something special happened this month when authorized distributor Bermuda Gas introduced the KitchenAid product line to the Bermuda market.
KitchenAid’s 93 years of quality and excellence, backed by the brand’s legendary strength, reliability and versatility are facts Bermuda Gas sales consultants are eager to discuss with their customers.
“[But] KitchenAid doesn’t do laundry,” Bermuda Gas sales manager, David DeSilva said.
As a member of the family of laundry market leader, Whirlpool, KitchenAid wouldn’t compete against its own. Its focus is on the kitchen.
Mr DeSilva said: “KitchenAid is a high-quality, reasonably priced, full product offering package.”
According to the sales manager, the appliance industry in general is promoting the ‘kitchen side of things.’ It wants consumers to view cooking as an experience to be enjoyed, rather than a chore to be tolerated.
And it begins with the tools.
KitchenAid’s startlingly handsome major appliances stand in the Bermuda Gas showroom like stainless steel soldiers.
The double door refrigerator offers exterior access to a generous fruit and vegetable drawer and large bottom freezer.
KitchenAid’s two-in-one microwave/oven, freestanding convection oven and dual-temperature wine cooler – one for white, one for reds – provide customers with recognized brand experience and know-how.
Its product line is predominantly electric.
Mr DeSilva said: “It’s primarily cooking that they offer in gas, and that would be in freestanding ranges and built-ins.”
Approximately 95 percent of KitchenAid’s major appliances come in the stainless steel, which has proved to be popular among consumers. Black and white are also available for those customers who covet them.
KitchenAid’s countertop portables also demand attention. Like accent pieces in all-white or all-beige décor, small appliances such as lime green mixers, orange blenders, dark blue toasters and red roasters turn work into play. Yellow, teal, pink and other colours beg to be custom ordered, although a huge warehouse behind Bermuda Gas’ large showroom might already hold what you want.
KitchenAid appliances are Energy Star compliant. That means, according to Mr DeSilva, that they were designed and manufactured according to US Department of Energy guidelines to work within a certain energy consumption range.
He said: “The units use a third of the electricity when compared to a similar model of 10 years ago.”
The energy efficiency rating does not increase the cost of the appliance above that of a non-Energy Star appliance, and customers are not ‘buying blind,’ according to the sales manager.
“Each appliance comes with an energy guide that will tell you how much energy it would use over the course of a year… The Energy Star appliances are becoming more and more popular as more consumers do their own research and are becoming more energy wise,” he said.
KitchenAid’s new home is located at 25 Serpentine Road, where, at the beginning of the year, Bermuda Gas consolidated all its departments – showroom, warehouse, parts department, customer care, accounts and administration, as well as on site parking.
Sales consultants with over 100 years of experience among them operate the showroom weekdays from 8am until 5pm and Saturdays from 9am until 5pm. Your direct line to the showroom is 298-6113; call with any questions.
Stop in; bring the plans for your kitchen. The sales consultants can help you choose the appliance that makes sense in the space that you’ve got. The Bermuda Gas team also consults with kitchen designers and interior designers who work on behalf of their clients.

Bermuda Gas deliveries are free, as are removals of the old appliances.
Mr DeSilva said: “To our knowledge, we are the only ones in Bermuda who do removals. That is one thing that we’re very proud of because we do offer that service to people.”
Installations of new appliances are situational; the installations may or may not be free of charge. Ask for clarification when you buy.
Bermuda Gas offers the standard warranty of one year for parts and labour.
So celebrate the acquisition with Bermuda Gas of its authorized distributorship of KitchenAid appliances.
Remember, KitchenAid doesn’t do laundry, but it enhances your kitchen with the smart appearance and formidable knowledge and experience you’d expect of an almost 100-year-old brand.
And now through September 29th, Bermuda Gas is featuring 15 percent off all KitchenAid major appliances and countertop portables.
